The British Library and patronising southerners.

British Library anti-north east comments
Its not surprising to see the words written down in this article from the Journal, but to be desrcribed as "restless natives" or to have the campaign to have the Lindisfarne Gospels returned to their natural home as "regionalism gone mad" is disgraceful.
All the people of Northumbria want is justice and the return of what belongs to us, why is that so difficult for people to understand ?

We would end up with nothing any our National museums and libraries worth looking at if these kinds of short-sighted campaigns succeed: the British Museum would be empty, half of the exhibits in our art galleries would be sent back to Europe, and what is left would be scattered all over the country and inaccessible. Every parish in the land with any tenuous link to a famous person or interesting item would be trying to get its hands on artifacts.

An excuse to make sure that everything stays in London at the expense of the rest of the country.
What belongs to London should stay there but what has been stolen from elswhere should be returned to their rightful homes.
